Winners to Receive Premium Consultation with Lon Winters
BROOMFIELD, Colo.—Printwear magazine announces its 2011 Shop Makeover Contest, winners of which will receive a five-day consultation with industry consultant and Printwear columnist Lon Winters.
Printwear’s mission is to provide education and insight to decorated apparel businesses. Ours is a very hands-on industry and we are always looking for ways to interact with the decorating community and to share our resources,” said Printwear Editor Emily Andre. “Partnering with Lon in this context gives us another powerful way to deliver education to our audience. Printwear is excited to provide this opportunity to our readers.”
Winters has been in the screen printing industry for more than 20 years and has worked in a number of different positions in production and management. In his current role as an international consultant, he provides insight on technical advances, plant design, layout, troubleshooting, quality control and more. He has been a contributor to Printwear magazine for more than a decade and brings his words to life in his seminars at The NBM Show.
“Lon Winters is a hands-on kind of guy and we’re looking for the right shop for Lon to visit, assess and work with on a top to bottom overhaul,” Dave Pomeroy, Publisher of Printwear stated. “I’m excited at the opportunities for improvement that this contest will bring, not only for the winners of the contest, but for the industry as a whole as we witness the tangible results from Lon’s lessons.”
The contest seeks screen printers looking for ways to improve the quality of their output and increase productivity. Winters will travel to the winners’ shops to address production and other concerns and to help maximize efficiency. Entrants are strongly encouraged to submit videos and images along with their reasons why their shop should be selected. Screen printing, embroidery, transfer, direct-to-substrate, rhinestones, foil, appliqué and more—pick two or three… or four. Today’s top designers and brands are mixing more than one medium to create that $80 retail T-shirt.
